Phil Weeks & Joss Moog bring the house down-under

February 07, 2017 in Documentary, Music

The days when I would head out, once or twice a week, to see a DJ play are long behind me. It's not that I don't enjoy doing it anymore, on the contrary - but at age 33, it's become more about quality than quantity.

But every once in a while i'll come across a bill poster or Facebook post advertising an event that acts as a sort of nostalgic, musical call to arms - and the most recent S.A.S.H Sundays was one such event. On the bill, house music purist and Robsoul Recordings label boss; Phil Weeks - and long-time collaborator and label-mate; Joss Moog - both of which i've been a fan of for 10+ years.

The French DJ/prodcuers were both true to form and played exceptional sets - the kind of sets that had everyone in attendance looking like there was nowhere else they'd rather be, myself included.

With Sydney experiencing such turbulent times when it comes to it's nightlife and live music, it was really reassuring to see promotors still being able to bring acts like this to the forefront; the ones that have been, and still are, doing it the best.

All in all, it was a fantastic day. The vibes were plentiful, the groove was infectious - and it was great to see both young and old(er) dance to two of the greats.
